NOVOSIBIRSK, Nov 8 (PRIME) -- Russian farmers have harvested 147 million tonnes of grain as of Tuesday with the export potential for the 2023–2024 agricultural season standing at 65 million tonnes, First Deputy Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said on Wednesday.
“As of yesterday, we harvested 147 million tonnes of wheat, including the new territories, it is obvious that we will fail to harvest something until the end of this year given the harvesting prospects … We will finish harvesting next spring, it is a normal situation,” she said.
The export potential in the current agricultural season stands at 65 million tonnes of grain. The export quota for 2024, which the government will impose on February 15, stands at 24 million tonnes, including the preferences for the new territories, she said.
